Matariki Kites

This week we went down to the river and we cut some flax and we started making some Matariki kites

and today I finished mine.

I enjoyed weaving the flax in and out to make the kite.

I found it tricky to wrap the string from the flax around the bamboo sticks to make the kite base.

My digital learning object shows that I can take a photo of my kite and post it on my blog.
