Photo Collage

Today for cybersmart we made a photo collage of the Environment Centre visit. We learnt that tea bags have plastic on them. We also learnt a truck driver has to drive 5 hours to the landfill area to take the rubbish from Gisborne there.

I enjoyed making the collage on Google Slides.because we could size and put pictures of what we did on the day.
I found it tricky to size and fit them so it didn't look like it had lots of spaces.
My digital learning object shows that I can make a photo collage.
Here is my photo collage

July Reflection

Today we were reflecting on our work.
We do it every month because we can learn from what we wrote on out past reflections.
I found it easy to write the information in the reading and writing.
I found it tricky to find where the quote was from in the Bible.
Next time I would change the background colour because it is plain.
My Digital learning object shows that I can publish my work onto my blog.

Faith Poster

This week we have been doing a challenge to create a poster for a term value faith and we had the choice of doing it on paper or digital. I chose digital because it is easier for me.
I think faith means to believe in God.
I enjoyed writing and choosing the fonts for the writing.
I found it tricky to make a nice colour that i liked for my background.
I would change the heart in the middle to a different colour.
My digital learning object shows that I can publish my work onto my blog.
Here is my poster.

Report Writing

This week we were given a level 3 report card and some cut up strips with writing on them.
First we had to pick a buddy. Kylah chose me. Then we had the sentences and had to figure out the order that we think it should be in. We had to put them into paragraphs. It had to have one topic in each  paragraph. After we had to grab a coloured card. I chose a yellow coloured card and we glued the sentences on the card in the order we had them in. Then we had another person's card and clipped them together with pegs. Then hanged them on the wire.
I enjoyed putting glueing them down onto the card.
I found it tricky to find the order when we first got the sentence strips. I didn't think about the same sort of information being in the same paragraph. When I heard that, it was a lot easier.
Next time I would change the colour of the card like purple or blue.
My digital learning object shows that I can that a photo and post it on my blog
Here is what it looks like

David Walliams Fact File

This week for reading we have been reading a book in our class called Slime. One of our reading tasks was to make a fact file, We made a fact file about David Walliams because he is the author of the book we are reading.
I enjoyed making my fact file because we could choose any colours and fonts we wanted.
I found it tricky to find some information about David Walliams because when I searched it the information would not show up.
I would change the fonts and colours.
My digital learning object shows that I can publish my work on my blog.

Matariki Kites

This week we went down to the river and we cut some flax and we started making some Matariki kites
and today I finished mine.
I enjoyed weaving the flax in and out to make the kite.
I found it tricky to wrap the string from the flax around the bamboo sticks to make the kite base.
My digital learning object shows that I can take a photo of my kite and post it on my blog.
Here is my kite

Matariki Star

This week for Reading and Writing we have been learning about Matariki so we did some stars about Matariki that have information about the eight stars and what Matariki is.
I enjoyed colouring in the stars.
I found it tricky to do the hole punch for the star because I kept missing it and it made multiple holes.
My digital learning object shows I can take a photo and post it on my blog

Matariki Breakfast

This morning we had a shared breakfast to celebrate Matariki.
There were lots to choose from like fruit, weetbix, pancakes, bacon, banana bread and lots more.
It was amazing there was lots and lots of food and it was like a feast!
I enjoyed the pancakes the most because they were so soft.
Here is the picture.

Decimals

We are learning to understand the concept of a decimal point and tenths thousandths.
Student teachers from Auckland University have done a slide for us with links to sites so we can practice our decimals but the student teachers could not come to our school because of Coronavirus.
I found it easy to work out how to say decimals.
I found it tricky to understand the second practice site. It said a word and you had to figure out what the decimal was.
My digital learning object shows I can make a Screencastify and post it on my blog.
Here's my Screencastify to let the student teachers know how I got on.
