Today for Inquiry we had a scavenger hunt were we had to find some of our native animals. There were slides to choose from and I chose the kōtare - New Zealand kingfisher. We had to find out the answers to all of these questions.
I enjoyed finding the answers because they were easy to find.
I found it tricky to find all the stuff that was hiding on the first page.

Answers:
What is my Maori name? - kōtare
Where can I find other species of kingfisher - Could not find it.
What months of the year do kingfisher breed - September to February.
Where do the nest? - cavities in trees, cliffs and banks.
How many eggs of average do they lay - Four to Six eggs.
What colour are the eggs and how big are they - Colour is white. Could not find out how big they are.
What do they eat - They eat insects, spiders, lizards, mice and small birds.
